WELCOME

WELCOME TO THE ASSOCIATION OF CARIBBEAN-AMERICANS IN CORRECTION (A.C.A.C.) WEBSITE. THIS SITE IS DESIGN
TO PROVIDE ITS MEMBERS WITH CURRENT ISSUES PERTAINING TO CULTURAL,
SOCIAL, EDUCATIONAL, AND DEPARTMENTAL, EVENTS AND INFORMATION.

OUR MISSION
THE MISSION OF THE ASSOCIATION OF CARIBBEAN-AMERICANS IN CORRECTION IS TO ENSURE THAT THE
WELL-BEING, NEEDS, AND CONCERNS OF CARIBBEAN STAFF, BOTH UNIFORMED AND                 
NON-UNIFORMED, ARE BEING MET. WE ALSO SEEK TO CLARIFY AND ENHANCE THE IMAGE OF THE CARIBBEAN BY
PROMOTING CARIBBEAN CULTURE. IN ADDITION, WE ARE COMMITTED TO SUPPORTING VARIOUS CHARITABLE
EVENTS AND EDUCATIONAL PROJECTS WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT, NEW YORK TRISTATE AREA, AND THE CARIBBEAN.
SUCH SUPPORT INCLUDES, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, AID TO VICTIMS OF NATURAL DISASTERS, MENTORING PROGRAMS,
RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES, YOUTH-IN-ACTION INITIATIVES THROUGH SPORTS, AWARDING SCHOLARSHIPS,
EDUCATIONAL SUPPLIES, AND THE DISTRIBUTION OF FOOD, CLOTHING, AND TOYS TO THE UNDERPRIVILEGED.

OUR GOAL
IT IS OUR GOAL TO FOSTER AND STRENGTHEN UNITY AMONG DIVERSE CULTURES, FRATERNAL ORGANIZATIONS, AND
LABOR UNIONS WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT AND AROUND NEW YORK CITY. THIS
WILL BE ACCOMPLISHED BY EDUCATING DEPARTMENTAL EMPLOYEES AND COMMUNITIES AROUND N.Y.C. OF
TRADITIONAL CARIBBEAN CULTURE THROUGH EFFECTIVE OUTREACH PROGRAMS THAT
BROADEN CULTURAL EXPERIENCES, AWARENESS AND ENRICHMENT OF PEOPLE OF ALL ETHNICITIES AND ORIGINS
PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

IT IS A GREAT HONOR AND PRIVILEGE FOR ME TO ASSUME THE ROLE OF PRESIDENT OF THE ASSOCIATION OF
CARIBBEAN-AMERICANS IN CORRECTION(ACAC).

THE ASSOCIATION PLAYS A CRITICAL ROLE IN HELPING TO ADDRESS THE NEEDS AND WELL-BEING OF CORRECTION
OFFICER OF CARIBBEAN DECENT. THEREFORE, I AM COMMITTED TO PROVIDE THE LEADERSHIP THIS ASSOCIATION
REQUIRES IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE ITS OBJECTIVES AND GOALS. I AM ALSO COMMIT TO LISTEN AND RESPOND TO
YOUR NEEDS AND GRIEVANCES BY WORKING CLOSELY WITH THE EXECUTIVES, MANAGERS, LABOR UNIONS, AND
FRATERNAL ORGANIZATIONS WITHIN NEW YORK CITY DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTION.

I SINCERELY ACCEPT THIS IMPORTANT ROLE AS PRESIDENT AND TOGETHER WITH THE STRONG SUPPORT OF THE
EXECUTIVE BOARD AND MEMBERS, WE WILL STRIVE TO ATTAIN PERFECTION OF THE
ASSOCIATION'S GOALS.

ALLOW ME TO PRESENT MY AGENDA FOR THE YEAR 2016. WE MAY BE CONSTRAINED TO ACCOMPLISH MORE BUT WE
WILL DO OUR VERY BEST AS A TEAM BY UTILIZING THE EXPERTISE OF THE NEW EXECUTIVE BOARD AND OUR
MEMBERS.

  • UPDATING THE MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY. THIS WILL ENABLE US TO REACH OUT AND DISSEMINATE
    INFORMATION VIA EMAIL. SO AS TO MINIMIZE THE COST OF MAILING
  • MEMBERSHIP CAMPAIGN. WE WOULD LIKE TO APPEAL TO OUR FELLOW OFFICERS TO RENEW THEIR
    MEMBERSHIP
  • OUTREACH PROGRAM. WE WOULD ALSO LIKE TO INITIATE A BOOK PROGRAM TO PUBLIC ELEMENTARY
    SCHOOLS IN THE NEW YORK AREA.
  • SOCIAL EVENTS. WE WOULD LIKE TO REVIVE THE GAMES NIGHT, WHERE MEMBERS AND FRIENDS CAN MEET AND
    HAVE FUN.
  • OTHER WAYS TO GENERATE FUNDS. IT IS OUR ARDENT DESIRE TO CONTRIBUTE IN ENHANCING OUR RESOURCES
    FOR THE WELFARE OF THE ASSOCIATION.
  • STRENGTHEN OUR EXISTING RELATIONSHIP WITH THE DEPUTY WARDENS ASSOCIATION, C.C.A., C.O.B.A AND ALL
    FRATERNAL ORGANIZATIONS WITHIN NYC DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTION.
  • ANNUAL BOAT RIDE.
  • FAMILY DAY PICNIC
  • ANNUAL WEST INDIAN LABOR DAY  PARADE
  • ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY

WITH THESE AS OUR GUIDE, WE APPEAL TO ALL MEMBERS TO HELP ACHIEVE THESE GOALS. YOUR SUPPORT FOR
ALL THE ASSOCIATION'S ENDEAVORS AND ACTIVITIES WILL BE YOUR BEST CONTRIBUTION IN MAKING US STRONG.
